Drug bust hearings set for Friday in Elyria court

More than 25 area social agencies and churches in Lorain County will lose part of their funding today as a $148 000 FEMA grant expires. The money supported emergency food shelter and utility aid for the unemployed and poor, with 26 groups receiving funds in January. The Neighborhood House Association will need private donations to continue its homeless shelter at Wilkes Villa, a program that housed about 180 people earlier this year, a 36 percent drop from 1984.
