Sheffield Lake OKs minor protection ordinance against porn

Sheffield Lake council approved an emergency ordinance aimed at shielding minors from pornographic material. The measure bans dissemination to juveniles and possession or sale of child pornography and nude dancing, taking effect in 30 days. Violations are a first degree misdemeanor. the rule does not bar sale of mature magazines kept out of sight.

Isolated reprimand for off duty use of unmarked car

Elyria reports a county sheriff’s detective received a written reprimand for using an unmarked police car while off duty to visit a social club and giving two women a ride home. Sheriff Mahony says no other similar incidents have occurred during his tenure and the officer loses full use of the vehicle for one month. No sexual conduct occurred.
