Teen birth rates drop, but disparities persist across groups
A CDC report shows teen birth rates fell from 2006 to 2014 across all groups and states, with black and Hispanic teens showing larger declines from higher starting points. White teens remain about half as likely as Black teens to give birth, while Arkansas Colorado and others posted steep drops and Mississippi New Mexico remain high. About 2 million teen births occurred in the United States in 2014, with roughly 250,000 to teens 15 to 19.
