Governors travel policies under scrutiny after Corzine crash
The Crashes prompts review of gubernatorial transport rules nationwide. Governors rely on state troopers and vehicles to reach events quickly, with varying allowances for speeding and flashing lights. An independent panel in New Jersey will examine Corzine’s protective detail, while a broad AP survey notes belts worn, seating positions, and the use of planes, helicopters, or cars depending on schedule and distance.
