San Diego Gas & Electric faces bid setback on stock sale
San Diego Gas & Electric proposed 300000 shares of a new 4 12 per cent $20 par preferred stock to raise capital for expansion. West Coast and New York bankers offered $20.25 a share in March but competitive bidding later reduced the price, yielding a loss of $132000 compared with the negotiated price. Bids from Salomon Bros & Hutzier-Union Securities and White Weld & Co groups came in at $19 81 and $19 35 respectively.
