Amherst South Amherst Girl Scout troop merger meets resistance
Eleven South Amherst Cadet Troop 642 members and leader Mrs. James Reazer oppose combining with 18 Amherst girls to form one senior troop under an Amherst leader. Miss Martha Kelly of Erie Shores Girl Scout Council defends the plan as aligning with national guidelines for size and diversity, while Reazer fears loss of identity and notes a long trust with their current leader. The council says meetings will mix communities and preserve troop identity, with a Washington trip planned for June and registration through March 1973.
