New London schools seek 14 mill operating levy
New London voters will decide May 6 on a single school levy combining a 9 mill renewal with an additional five mills for the current expenses. The vote funds classroom costs, transportation with a second bus, and a $3,000 secondary sewage plant at Fitchville School. If defeated, the measure could be rerun in November and December. superintendent Hurley warned of possible February 1970 operation. A listening session is planned May 2 to explain the finances and levy need.
