West Virginia scaffold collapse kills scores at power plant
A scaffold on a cooling tower under construction at a Monongahela Power Co site in St. Marys collapsed. Officials say 38 to 40 bodies were recovered with 40 to 50 workers on site. The cement tower is half finished, 360 feet wide at the base and about 430 feet tall when complete. Workers were from New Jersey and West Virginia, with a temporary morgue set up at Belmont Fire Dept headquarters.
