In Haworth Oklahoma two massacres left six dead and a growing manhunt as two unidentified gunmen killed Mrs Pope, her family, and others. Investigators believe two shooters acted, with doors forced and weapons used, while fear of mob violence rises.
Akron April 27 Ernest M Myers 24 confessed burglar was killed in a gun battle with three Akron police as he returned to his home after a Shaker Heights burglary. Police say Myers fired first prompting three officers to return fire and he died ten minutes later in a hospital.
Fire department responded to two calls at Elyria Foundry within hours one for a gas ignition near a casting mold and another near midnight at the same site. A separate blaze damaged Moore's concrete works on the West side, with minimal destruction observed. In Lorain, James Crank was fined 1 and costs plus thirty days in jail for torturing his 12 year old son by chaining and padlocking his wrist.
