Church withdraws rezoning request for 16 acre camp site
Lorain Ohio. The Church on the North Coast has pulled its bid to rezone 16 acres at the northwest corner of Jaeger and Leavitt roads, part of a 65 acre parcel, citing a plan to create a comprehensive master plan. Neighbors raised concerns about overnight camping noise and disruption at a Planning Commission meeting. Church property manager Ken Garrison said plans will be submitted later but gave no campsite details. Councilwoman Kathy Tavenser praised withdrawal, urging good neighbor engagement. Tavenner noted deed allows day camp but not overnight tents or trailers and suggested consulting the state attorney general before proceeding.
