Parole Hope Rises as Wisconsin Rape Conviction Voids
Elmer E. McConnaughy, 83, an Ohio inmate at Chillicothe Correctional Institute, wins a new chance for parole after Judge Herbert J. Steffes set aside his 194? Wisconsin rape conviction. The ruling, in Milwaukee, allows McConnaughy to proceed with parole review by the Ohio Parole Board in October, amid prior denials tied to the Wisconsin conviction.
