North Vietnamese troops attacked a U S base called Frontier City 45 miles northwest of Saigon near the Cambodian border. Maj. Gen. Suspect in Amherst slaying surrenders in Indiana
Richard Sargent a 24 year old Indianapolis man who faced robbery and murder charges in Indiana surrendered to Marion County officials ending a search that began Monday. He is wanted in the June 7 1988 Amherst Ohio robbery and murder at the Louis Harwath store where $2000 was taken and his wife chained in a basement. Jarvis Metcalf 20 was found dead at the scene. Sargent was in jail on Indiana charges with bond set at 7500 and later raised. he could not raise it and remained jailed. Following Indiana proceedings he will be sent to Lorain County for prosecution.
