Lorain sergeant on leave over off-duty crash details

Vermilion man pleads guilty to fatal alcohol crash
Nicholas Fenik, 25, of Portside Drive, pleaded guilty in Lorain County Common Pleas Court to aggravated vehicular homicide and related charges for a 2023 alcohol related crash that killed Trent Neal. One felony count was dismissed as part of a plea deal, with a four year prison term possible and early judicial release. Sentencing is set for 10 a.m. May 5 in Judge Giovanna Bremke's courtroom.
