Elyria police report no leads in the abduction of 21 year old Kathy Moore on West Avenue Sunday night as Debra Mallohan, 23, described four men in a car who forced Moore into a black Lincoln at knife point near 1130 pm. Mallohan reviewed mug photos but could not identify suspects.

Two Lorain inmates escape brief rooftop flight
Lorain County inmates Ronald Tannert and James Gilliam escaped for 34 minutes Monday after leaping to the roof during a minor fire response in cell block 23. They fled through fields and woods before being captured. Sheriff James Mertz said Tannert, a Cleveland man held as a murder witness and inmate, and Gilliam, Elyria resident, were recaptured as they emerged from a wooded area near West Ridge Road and Albrecht Road. A full investigation is underway to determine how access to the exercise area was gained.
