TRW’s annual photo shows a Rockwell like Wellington storefront owned by Allen W. Kimmich. A Cali lamp and curtains were added, a shaggy dog imported for effect, and local people posed to evoke small town America, while Allen sells TRW products from the scene.
Daniel L. Davidson, a former sheriff's deputy who investigated for Timothy Papp, resigned March 29 after being demoted to deputy and alleging duress and unfair practices by Sheriff Vernon M. Smith. Davidson, who witnessed the Papp retrial in Akron in the Roxie Ann Keathley case, says the resignation takes effect April 28 and cites lost pay.
A chartered plane carrying U S Auto Club officials home from a race crashed in a southeastern Indiana cornfield during heavy storms, killing all nine aboard. The twin engine Piper Navajo Chieftain exploded after the crash near Rushville, with eight officials believed aboard plus the pilot. Ray Marquette, USAC vice president and director of public affairs, a 30 year veteran of Indianapolis journalism, was among those on board.
