Atom tests may upset rain cycle says physicist

Washington based physicist Dr. Ross Gunn reports that man made pollution and cloud seeding could alter nature's rain cycle. He argues experiments may not create rain and could provoke droughts or heavy rainfall, prompting a second look by the Weather Bureau and The Academy of Sciences.

Northeast Ohio Hit By Storms

The Weather Bureau warned of possible tornadoes along the Michigan Ohio border as storms sweep Northeastern Ohio. Thunderstorms drenched the region with about an inch of rain, causing basement and street flooding and widespread power outages. Water backups reached 30 inches in parts of Cleveland’s west side as about 300 east side homes and three suburbs lost power for over two hours.

Elyria Worker Collapses At Plant After Nitrogen Leak

Jesse C. Greene 2207 West River Rd Elyria collapsed from lack of oxygen while cleaning a 514 foot reactor at Avon Lake Experimental Station of B F Goodrich Chemical Co. He regained consciousness and is improving at St Josephs Hospital Lorain. Greene, employed since December 194, faced a brief 75 second oxygen deprivation after nitrogen was mistakenly blown into the tank. Company records note a two year safety record with 1.4 million manhours worked without injury.

Elyria to Observe Daylight Saving Time Officially

Elyria will switch to Daylight Saving Time this Sunday at 2 a.m. with clocks advancing to 3 a.m. The mayor says Elyria joins Cleveland and other northeast Ohio cities in the annual clock change. The council had earlier fixed daylight saving time as official from the last Sunday in April to the last Sunday in September.
