Postal crackdown targets fraudulent grapefruit diet schemes
The Postal Service announced actions to curb false grapefruit diet promotions that use mail advertising and orders. A promoter allegedly took in up to 250000 dollars from 800 to 1000 letters daily, while 38 of 51 investigated promoters agreed to stop claims. FDA expert Cordaro testified grapefruit lacks fat metabolizing powers and the Super-C plan may harm those with heart or kidney issues.
