Sugar Ration Details Out for May to June

The Office of Price Administration announced the sugar rationing schedule with Stamp No 1 valid May 5–16 and subsequent stamps through June 33. Industrial users face 70 percent of prior usage. restaurants see half their base allotment. registration dates span May 4–6 in schools and April 28–23 in high schools for industrials.

Obstacle Course Still Test for Missouri Cadets at UM

In Columbia Missouri Jack Matthews of the physical education department designed a rugged Army style obstacle course. It features a 3 foot high steel hurdle a 10 foot water jump a log tunnel and a high wall. Don Faurat the football coach clocked the route in 21 seconds. The course aims to test self reliance and balance under adverse conditions for university trainees.

Child Burn Injury Sparks Kitchen Fire Report

A child suffered critical burns from a kitchen stove accident today in Rockbridge. Sue Deel and her brother Billy, 14, attempted to aid the blaze and sustained minor injuries. An unrelated note mentions jam sales in Eire requiring an empty container.

Grafton Man Seeks Ohio House Seat in Republican Primary

Wells W. Mole, 46, of Grafton, today announced his candidacy for representative in the Ohio general assembly, subject to the August 1 Republican primary. A Eaton township native resident since age two, Mole attended Grafton schools and worked 19 years as a gate man at Rothgery Motor Sales before wartime-auto industry curtailment. He has one child and has long been active in Republican politics.

Damaged rear fenders in North Olmsted parking incident

A parked car owned by 3 gon of North Olmsted was damaged yesterday by a right rear fender after being struck by a vehicle driven by W Cleveland. The fender on a parked car owned by Atlee Terry of 4 River Road was damaged in a similar back—out accident by a car operated by Clar ente Caxlap of Lake Avenue.

Farmers Plan To Produce More With Less Help

In Columbus on April 23, Ohio farmers plan to meet rising wartime demand by expanding outputs with less labor. The Federal State crop reporting service cited March 1 intentions for 2 percent more corn, 3 percent more oats, 5 percent more soybeans, and 1 percent more hay. Milk cows up 1 percent, chickens up 7 percent. Farm labor, down 24 percent from prior year due to enlistments and defense jobs, totals 10,000 workers with 2,000 family and 3,000 hired. Increases rely on longer hours, inter-farm labor exchange, and farm wives and children taking duties. maintenance work may be deferred and farm wage rates up 33 percent.

Campaign supplies sent to 14 counties for Catholic Charities drive

The Catholic Charities Corporation reports 13000 members in 232 parishes will conduct the 24th annual drive the week of May 3. Pastors in 14 counties received campaign materials as president L. Z. Butler announced a goal of 250000.

Prepare For Y Camp Season

Preparations for the Sime camp season at Camp JesSeeeKrs Elyria YAAUGLAS camp along the Vere millon River. Russet Gleason named Y.M.C.A. physical director. The camp will run May 18 to November 1 with the YMCA season from June 13 to July 23. Four 10 day periods are scheduled from June 13 to 23, June 27 to July 3, July 3 to 13, and July 17 to 3. Week end parties for youth and adults will occur May September and October and more groups are expected to use the camp facilities before and after the regular season.
