Jimmie Fidler on Selznick and screen plots
Hollywood columnist Jimmie Fidler argues producer Selznick succeeds by sticking to original plots or adaptions that please mass audiences. He criticizes other producers for changing classics and asserts Gone With the Wind proves a faithful approach can triumph at the box office. He notes Greta Garbo as a star example in Idol Chatter.
