Toledo Zoo to Raise Lake Sturgeon in Lake Erie Restoration
The Toledo Zoo will raise about 1,500 young lake sturgeon this summer as part of a restoration effort funded by a $90,000 grant. Eggs will arrive in June, with releases planned for Maumee River in August or September. The project aims to revive a species heavily diminished by overfishing near Lake Erie.
