Two Findlay men Norman A Waaland and Clark Decker were arrested after a car chase in Lima ends when the bandit vehicle crashed. Waaland jumped into the Ottawa river and was wounded. officers later forced him from a sewer using tear gas and a life boat. Authorities say Waaland had been sought for gas station and small store holdups in northwestern Ohio.
