Governor candidates weigh in as budget proposes reforms
In Columbus the GOP governor race gains momentum as House Republicans insert ideas from Attorney General Jim Petro and Auditor Betty Montgomery into the two year budget. Petro seeks nine state departments under the governor, saving up to a billion dollars annually and boosting local partnerships. Montgomery pushes Medicaid audits without JFS approval to curb waste and fraud, costing the state hundreds of millions yearly.
