Pyle essays and sports notes from wartime Elyria column
A fragmentary wartime column recalls E L ERNNIE PYLE and his world weary stance on war. It references his Okinawa pieces, his reaction to his mother’s death, and a broader view of journalism during conflict. Also included are local sports notes about Elyria tennis courts, Cascade Park, and a Gardner Jewelers softball challenge for 1945.
