Police released a description of a man who forged the signature of Lee Gubeno, manager of the A and P store, and cashed a 62.75 check at a Cleveland bank. Oberlin relatives learned last week that Lieut Franklin Martie Harris formerly of Oberlin was lost at sea in the recent naval battle in Darwin harbor Australia. He served on the S S Peary which was sunk on February 19 1942. He made his home with his grandmother the late Mrs Frank Hogerans and attended Oberlin schools before enlisting in 1919. He leaves a wife and three children in Washington state his mother Mrs Jeanie Rosecrans Harris of St Petersburg Florida an uncle J E Rosecrans and aunt Mrs L J Morris of Oberlin.
