The Pomona Grange will present a community citizen award to a non member Sunday night at the Wellington Grange Hall. A 7 pm pot luck supper precedes the ceremony. Public invited per spokesman Diane Bennett. Nominations were made by subordinate Granges.
Severe weather struck Florida on Saturday with tornadoes reported in Sebring and eastern Palm Beach County, golfball sized hail in Tallahassee, and a trailer roof blown off in Ortona. No injuries were reported as forecasters warned of continuing showers across the South and a cool to warm national outlook.
The Lorain County Farm Bureau Women's Committee will hold a salad buffet on April 28 at 7 p.m. in Pittsfield United Church of Christ. The event aims to foster fellowship between Farm Bureau members and city residents, with Ginny Pitts of Camden Township leading. A film on farm life will be shown and Nancy Len drum, harpist from Oberlin Conservatory of Music, will perform. council members will provide main dish and dessert salads.
