A shallow gas well on the Ross property near LaPorte blew 250 feet of steel casing into the air, endangering four drillers while wrecking equipment. The incident sent water geysering ten feet as casing fragments fell. one piece nearly struck a nearby car.
A mob of about 200 men overpowered 15 guards and dynamited a cap in the Tallahatchie flood area levee early today. Water surged through the gap flooding hundreds of thousands of acres of fertile land despite guards offering no resistance.
The executive committee of the Elyria depositors committee completed its conference with A B Taylor president of the Lorain County Savings and Trust Co this afternoon. They plan to issue a statement tomorrow and hoped to meet T O McEldowney of the State banking department soon upon his return.

More than 125 Lorain County school boards urged defeat of Senate Bill 220 that would abolish local rural and village school districts. A meeting at Elyria Savings and Trust Building formed the opposition group led by Warne C. Black. They sent resolutions to Governor White and lawmakers and planned further outreach to Lorain County representatives and the state senator.
