New York April 19 Will H Hays head of the motion picture producers association issued an order canceling all Arbuckle pictures likely causing 10 000 showings to be canceled and a loss to the industry estimated at one to two million dollars Representatives of Famous Players Lasky cooperated and Cincinnati managers voiced strong approval of the action. the plan affects Arbuckle Keystone comedies once shown in third rate houses.
Secretary of State Hughes told the House Ways and Means committee the United States is morally obligated to extend the promised $5,000,000 credit to Liberia. He urged immediate congressional action to fulfill the loan promised in the Wilson administration and reiterated by President Harding, warning of loss of respect before the world if not made.
An official Bulgarian notice states that Henry F. Hollis ex United States senator from New Hampshire obtained a divorce in Bulgaria that is irregular and illegal. The divorce was granted by two Unitarian ministers in Dupnitza and Holpla, who are also Unitarian. Bulgarian government did not sanction the divorce.
In Columbus today a white male burglar about 5'10" and 180 pounds stole a diamond studded wrist watch worth 750 and a purse from Governor Daviss residence on East Broad Street near Champion Avenue. Mrs. Davis, who witnessed the burglary, suffered a severe nervous shock. The thief escaped down an alley, wearing a steel colored gray suit, brown telescope hat, and black shoes. Governor Davis is away in Lorain County with state officials inspecting proposed farm purchases.
The Loyal Order of Moose will hold their first annual memorial service next Sunday afternoon at 236 East Broad Street. Mayor Jones will give the address and Dr Z Pitcher will deliver a second talk. All members, families, and the public are invited to attend.
City auditor Walter Guthman reports a deficit bond issue of 219000 so far, bringing total bonded indebtedness to 2477000. The statement, prepared at the request of A H Foster, covers the present year and shows cash available as of January 1 1922 with auditor's total fund balance of 443311.61 and sinking fund balance of 8745.64, offset by deductions for improvement bond funds and trust funds.
Governor Davis informs Lorain officials that affidavits on liquor law violations are sealed while he reviews Parker’s preliminary Lorain law enforcement report. Parker claims 76 places in Lorain were selling liquor and a final report awaits completion before release to the governor.
Prosecuting attorney Lawrence Webber and Attorney F M Stevens argued the Walter Davies appeal in Cleveland yesterday. Davies, former cashier of the City Bank of Lorain, was convicted of embezzling over 700000. The Hamilton county court of appeals heard the case, took it under advisement, and will issue a decision later.
Ten suspects, described as Negroes, were arrested in Columbus after the daylight robbery of the Steelton branch Citizens Trust and Savings Bank on South Parsons avenue. About $3,286 was stolen by three unknown bandits. manager W. D. Todd will decide if Hubert Brown of Cincinnati, John Banks of Akron, or Bleaker Purdue of Cincinnati took part.
Domi nic Benigno, held as a principal in the Sly-Fanner payroll murders of December 31, 1920, was granted a stay of execution set for April 27 by the First Circuit Sitting Court of Appeals on the grounds that there was insufficient time to pass upon the issues raised.
Genoa April 19 The Italian delegation to the economic conference reports the German delegation will admit a political mistake in the Russo German pact and says Germany will avoid a break while seeking to limit participation with Russia Walter Rathenau heads the German delegation and commented on allied Powers’ stance to bar further German dealings with Russia and to preserve alliance implications.
Police with Sheriff Backus and deputies raid Loop Saloon and Boston Lunch on Lodi street arresting three men for illegal liquor possession. Frank Slobi previously served 90 days in Cleveland and John Niecucki and John Senanoulz were taken into custody. Niecucki’s wife tried to pour liquor away but some was saved as evidence. Liquor found upstairs at Slobi’s place. The ten offenders were jailed to await trial tomorrow.
President Harding told Indiana Senator Watson that a financing plan must be found or the Senate will block the soldiers bonus. Watson outlined two options, a revenue rider to the tariff bill within weeks or delaying final action until end of June when $4 billion in bonds tied to Britain’s debt payments could fund the bonus.

Marshal Joffre, veteran hero of the first Marne, arrived in Washington early this morning on his first capital visit since his 1917 triumphal tour. He slipped in almost unnoticed, a stark contrast to the crowds that greeted him five years ago.
The death of Mrs Ora Nichols, 64, of LaGrange, occurred at Memorial hospital yesterday. She leaves her husband and a daughter, Mrs George Keener. Funeral services will be at the Baptist church, LaGrange, Thursday at one o clock in the afternoon.

John Barson of Pittsfield was arrested yesterday with two companions after visiting the county jail to see Nick Strazi, who was convicted for raisin jack making and fined. Barson claimed to be named Metro but was identified by the sheriff, and he faces liquor manufacturing charges. He posted $1,000 bond for tomorrow’s trial.
COLUMBUS April 19 Governor Davis grants a conditional pardon to Wilbur Miller of Marion who has served seven months of a sentence ranging from one to seven years for stealing six chickens. Miller said he acted to support his destitute family. The pardon was supported by Judge Monser of Marion, the Marion County prosecutor, and Warden Thomas of the penitentiary.
James Sulinza of Lorain sues International Real Estate Co and United Realty Co of Pittsburgh with Lorain office to recover 2290 paid for two lots bought with promise of sewer water and gas mains. They paid 400 cash and 50 monthly, 800 more later, but the defendants did not install mains or complete promised work. A house was built on the lot, and damages seek 2760 with judgment requested.
Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific passenger trains 312 and 311 met head on near Plains Kansas. Both engineers, Charles Widaman and P. Frick of Pratt, were killed. One passenger, Mrs. Hiltop of Guyman Oklahoma, was perhaps fatally injured with several others sustaining minor injuries. Cause unknown. Gasoline cars burned near Hurricane West Virginia delaying western traffic. no one hurt, a barn burned, trains detoured via K and M line.
The county engineer and State Highway department restored the haul limit to ten tons from six and three quarters tons, citing dried Toads conditions. Over three weeks of enforcement led to about fourteen arrests for overloading and several convictions.
Le nore Bryant again files contempt proceedings against Mark Bryant for failure to pay $72 in alimony as ordered. She seeks support for herself and child and Bryant must appear in court Saturday morning to show cause why he should not be punished for violating the court order.
