A national study shows teen births fell to a record low in 1999 with 15 to 19 year olds at 49.6 per 1000, a 3 percent drop and 20 percent below 1991. Multiple births of three or more also declined while Caesarean deliveries rose. Triplet-plus births dropped from 7,625 in 1998 to 7,321 in 1999.
