Lee Marvin to pay Michelle Marvin 104000 in suit

Hotel and shopping center planned for Cassell Industrial Park

Kenneth Cassell, owner-developer, outlines plans for a hotel, a rental mini-warehouse, and a shopping center at Cassell Industrial Park near Griswold Road and Rt 7. The hotel chain negotiating for land is not named, with a deal expected to close within 30 days. Planning Commission review for the 52 acre park is set, and a 45,009 square foot $12 million warehouse under contract will anchor the project.

Meatcutters weigh options as Goldberg closes Ridgeville store

Goldberg Supermarkets began a close-out sale at its Ridgeview Plaza store in North Ridgeville amid financial troubles that saw six Lorain County stores lose about 12 million from 1976 to 1978 and run about 50 thousand dollars monthly this year. Frances Goldberg confirmed the store closure while other details remained unavailable. A separate note denied priest Fr Joseph Step gave funds to the firm. he said he was asking parishioners to patronize the store but cannot donate funds. An advertisement claiming 20 percent price reductions ran today in The Chronicle Telegram.

Angry police chief attacks judge after drug suspect freed

Lorain police chief John Malinovsky attacked Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Floyd D Harris after the jury acquitted George Gonzales, 34, in a one day drug case. Malinovsky said detectives faced hassling in Harris court and criticized alleged faulty indictments and illegal testimony. Gonzales had previously pleaded guilty in a drug case but retracted. The case follows a separate murder acquittal by Harris in a prior Gonzales matter.

Monster needs beautiful women in Cleveland film

UPI reports producers of The Blood Thirsty Monster won county permission to film on the Detroit Superior Bridge in downtown Cleveland. The monster, born of polluted water and nuclear energy, hunts living food as it rises from the river. Promoter Mike Drexler announced auditions for beautiful women at Public Square, declaring all auditionees must be tasty morsels for the creature.
