Lorain Pools to Open This Summer With Private Grant
The Lorain city council approved a 25000 private Nord Foundation grant donated via the Greater Cleveland YMCA to fund lifeguards and pool staff for Central Park and Oakwood Park pools this summer. Mayor Chase Ritenauer said the grant is essential due to budget constraints and longstanding reliance on grants in tough economic times. Councilman Brian Gates noted this is the first year Nord funds are used for city pools.
