North Ridgeville police and Lorain County SWAT resolved a four hour welfare check standoff on Poplar Street after a resident showed a firearm. A SWAT negotiator spoke by phone, the resident was taken to a hospital for evaluation, and no charges were filed. The incident remains under investigation.

The Lorain Historical Society unveiled a Children’s History Room in the Carnegie Center to teach Lorain’s industrial past. Open to schools and programs starting May with support from local foundations.
