Library receives Napier set back from Civil War theft
Washington and Lee University officials say a 1842 volume of Napier’s History of the War in the Peninsula and in the South of France was returned from Mike Dau of Lake Forest Illinois to the Leyburn Library. The book was stolen 145 years ago from Washington College by a Union soldier.
