Lorain County Common Pleas Judge Giovanna Bremke ordered the Days Inn property be turned over to a receiver after Suite Living LLC failed to abate the property under a January city agreement. Attorney Christopher Mulvaney named receiver. city had sought action since March.

Amherst teens charged in be ating a 13 year old
Amherst police say six juveniles ages 13 to 15 were involved in what authorities described as a beating of a 13 year old at Grace Sprenger Memorial Park Sunday evening. Five youths were charged after officers located them in nearby woods following the incident.

Elyria man pleads guilty to sex offense charges
Eugene Arroyo, 62, of Massachusetts Avenue, pleaded guilty to four counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person and two counts of gross sexual imposition. Five counts were dismissed. Sentencing set for May 2 in Lorain County Common Pleas Court. Arroyo to be labeled a Tier III sex offender and must register.
