Roy D Hudson the new general secretary of the Y M C A arrived in Elyria to assume duties after serving as general secretary at Marion Indiana. He brings a record of organization overseas in Manchuria Korea and Siberia and expects to expand service for men and boys with local cooperation.

Mrs Mary Jane Kerr Dies at Ridge Road Home

Mrs Mary Jane Kerr 79 died at her brother John J Boyd's Ridge Road home near Stop 7. A former Cleveland resident she had lived here about two months. Survived by brother a sister Mrs Callow and son Herbert of Newburg. Funeral Monday afternoon at home.

Farm hand missing on Butter rut Ridge and harness loss

W H Meister reported a hired man disappeared from his Butter Rut Ridge farm just as two bridles and a rein from a harness went missing. He asked police to locate the man. Hugh Richards granted divorce from Ioa Richards on grounds of gross neglect of duty by Judge Thompson.

Arrested man sues for 5000 dollars in libel and arrest damages

L. P. Kennedy files a suit seeking 5000 dollars from W. C. Mercurio and Peter Mercurio of Cleveland after a warrant wrongly led to his arrest on a check fraud charge. He alleges damage to his good name from a one day Lorain jail stay and two days in Cleveland, with the case dismissed for lack of prosecution.

Brick Store Permit Issued At Fourth And West River

A building permit for an $8,000 brick store to be built at the corner of Fourth Street and West River Street has been issued to Mrs. E. H. Stoddard and George Dyke. The new grocery store will be the future occupant.

Home prowler killed as he disobeys officer

Columbus police identify a dead prowler shot by Officer Cleava Hall after failing to yield at 1404 Wesley avenue. The man, armed with a revolver and screwdriver, approached the Scheider residence and fled when ordered to raise his hands. Police noted screwdriver marks on a window sill.

Death in Lorain Under Inquiry Over Stairs Fall

Lorain April 15 Coroner Miles Perry investigates the death of John Bolog 42 of Lorain killed last night by falling down stairs. Bolog lived at 1516 Hast 30th Street in a boarding house where a two to three day drinking bout occurred. Inmates and the landlady were intoxicated and it is unclear if he was pushed or fell. The coroner will determine the truth.

Maddock Fined Ten Days Jail for Assault in Boston Case

John Maddock was fined $10 and costs and sentenced to ten days in jail after an assault and battery on Peter Conley during an argument at Cleveland and Ridge streets. Maddock was later picked up by police. Rain postponed today’s Athletics at Red Sox game in Boston on April 15.

Three Ohio youths killed by Texas and Pacific train

Three Columbus, Ohio youths were killed instantly by a Texas and Pacific passenger train west of Fort Worth after midnight. The victims are John Shoemaker, Carl Vance, and Elmer Hill. Edward Miner, a companion uninjured, says they lay on the tracks for a prank and declined to join in.
