Avon Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7035 hosts an Easter egg hunt at 1 p.m. Saturday for children up to 10. Parents bring baskets and cameras for photos with the Easter Bunny. The hunt proceeds rain or shine and each child will receive a treat and prize eggs.
The Crushers Booster Club announces its April 21 membership meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center with special guests Joe Charboneau and Chris Mongiardo. Mongiardo, Crushers manager, led 2013 pitching staff. Charboneau will be the new hitting coach.
The Avon Library hosts an Excel for Beginners class at 11 a.m. Saturday teaching data input formulas and print layouts in Office Excel 2007 with registration at LorainPublicLibrary.org or (440) 934-4743. A book discussion on The Lawgiver by Herman Wouk is set for 2:30 p.m. April 22, and a student art show with a reception at 6:30 p.m. April 24 features works by student artists.
A sequence of incidents on Interstate 90 and local streets from April 3 to April 9 includes arrests for DUI and drug offenses, citations for paraphernalia, multiple theft and vandalism reports, a found syringe, and complaints at the Village at Avon Apartments and skate park.
