Kirkuk Residents Seek Safety and Services After War
Kirkuk residents press for security and restored services as US forces meet with tribal leaders to form a 16 member committee. Skeptics say Americans focus on oil while locals face looted offices, rising prices, and loss of electricity and water. A US soldier is wounded in Mosul, as officials urge cooperation and retaliation warnings. Security improves gradually with checkpoints and civilian volunteers aiding patrols.
