Drivers sign three Lorain firms contracts to end strike
Three Lorain County concrete firms that quit a seven firm wage talks with Teamsters Local 571 signed three year deals with the union. The settlements cover West Side Lumber Con crete Corp Consumers Builders Supply Lorain Ready Mix Concrete Inc. The move follows a strike that began March 31 after the group offered a four year package of eight hundred forty two cents per hour. The Consumers official said his firm’s three year pact includes a 9314 cent wage and fringe increase. West Side and Lorain Ready Mix would not disclose their increases.
