Columbus April 14. Davey’s plan to set up soup kitchens after tomorrow to feed the state’s 350 000 needy became a distinct possibility as the Senate met to vote on the 7 000 600 Nichols relief bill. The House was to vote today on Huml income tax measure expected to raise 15 000 000 annually. A test vote showed 24 yes, 15 no in Senate caucus. Gov Davey indicated he would veto if the Nichols bill passed. Subdivisions would contribute millions. alternative would be a partial appropriation plan.

Two Lorain youths hurt in early morning car crash
Two Lorain youths were injured when their car left West River road near Lorain and Elyria, rolled over after striking a ditch. Rocky Bilancini, 19, suffered a fractured jaw and severe back injuries while Frank Zalatel, driver, had back injuries and a cut hand. Both were taken to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Zalatel was later released. Police investigators Corporal Hamlin and officers Bongs Olmstead Miller provided details.

Steubenville Ohio April 14 ten workers were burned when a 10 ton ladle of molten metal overturned at Carnegie Illinois Steel Corp Mingo Junction plant. Five men remained in serious condition at Ohio Valley Hospital including Peter Trombetti 25 most critically injured. Others from Mingo Junction listed as Robert Reynolds Bruno Lallick Raymond Gianamore and Ignatio Laquarrato all described as fair. Five additional men treated at the mill emergency hospital for less serious burns were sent home.

Four people were injured when a Lake Shore Electric interurban car left its tracks and struck a steel trolley pole in Lakewood.
