Construction season returns to Lorain County roads
Lorain Elyria and Columbia Township see multiple projects in progress with detours. Closures include State Route 113 U S 20 near the Ohio Turnpike bridge and Parkview Avenue through 5 p m Monday. Pipeline work on West River Road starts April 24 with single lane closures until May 8. Route 58 resurfacing continues through June with flaggers. North Ridgeville Creek Lane Barton Road bridge work limits traffic to one lane each direction through October. Route 83 over Route 10 near Chestnut Ridge Road to Butternut Ridge Road also single lane until November. Root Road railroad crossing April 21 25 with detours. Baumhart Road eastbound ramp closure on the Ohio Turnpike extends to November 27 with posted detours.

The Cyarah Vince Foundation held its fourth annual Domestic Violence Awareness Benefit at AMVETS Post 32 in Carlisle Township. Proceeds support Genesis House Lorain County Safe Harbor. baskets, raffle items, 50/50, and a Luke Bryan concert ticket prize drew attendees. Cyarah Vince, age 23, was murdered in 2020. her killer Austin Altomare is serving a life sentence.

Lorain County Coroner Dave O'Brien named Larry Moore 21 the fatal victim of a Friday afternoon shooting on Tower Boulevard Lorain. A second man was hospitalized after the attack near 1139 Tower Blvd with police detaining a possible suspect as a separate east side shooting followed.
