WEOL to Broadcast in AM Stereo by May
WEOL AM in Elyria will start testing a new stereo AM transmitter immediately and plans AM stereo broadcasts by mid May. General manager Gary L. Kneisley notes the station will use state of the art equipment and that many late model cars and some home radios already support AM stereo. Stations in Cleveland Detroit and Windsor already use AM stereo.

Men's room robbery at 1504 Club nets $11
A 26 year old Amherst man told police he was robbed at gunpoint in the men's room of the 1504 Club on Broadway around midnight Sunday. A man followed him into the room, produced a pistol, and demanded money, then fled after the grab.
