Deputy County Treasurer T J Urban announced that all real estate tax bills will be mailed this week with no extension for penalties. About 12 million has been collected so far. Most banks and agents will handle payments except Elyria Lorain Sheffield areas where bills must be picked up at the treasurer’s office. Keys urged taxpayers to pay by mail when possible.
Sheffield Lake schools schedule a six week summer session from June 20 to July 29 with an art enrichment course and personal typing option for fourth grade to high school students. Remedial reading and math meet five days weekly while eight week summer kindergarten starts June 20 for incoming first graders.

Topics cover board relations, agency and public welfare roles, fund raising and public relations. The event targets welfare agency board members but is open to the public.
