Norwalk Landfill Fight Alters Haynes Purchase Deal
Harold and Lara Haynes own 338 of 366 acres eyed for a county landfill. In March they signed a 51 500 per acre option with the county and received 10 000 for testing inconvenience. Dispute centers on realtor Maurice Smith who pressed the sale and alleged statements about selling to a private waste firm. The Hayneses deny those claims noting eminent domain could force sale.
