Elyria school board member Jim Backs used his manufacturing background to assemble a large sandbox with a fold out lid for Prospect Elementary. The project, funded by the school’s PTA, serves several students and includes benches on the lid. Backs completed the build in about eight hours at his home before delivering it to the school.
