Taft Memorial House to be Razed for Elyria Home Expansion
Wrecking crews begin in June on the Taft Memorial house at the Elyria Methodist Home to make space for a planned 130 bed nursing building costing about 1 million dollars. The Taft house, built by George Ely, reflects Victorian era wealth and craft, with historic woodwork, stained glass, and 11 acres purchased for the home.
