Cubs Seek Shortstop To Help Outfit In National League Race
The Chicago Cubs hunt for a shortstop to bolster their NL pennant bid. Manager Charley Grimm and the front office discuss Eddie Miller of the Reds and Bill Rigby of the Giants as targets. If acquired, Miller’s arm issue raises questions, while Rigby’s Pacific Coast reputation is weighed against fit. Depending on a deal, the Cubs could reshuffle outfielders and catchers, with Sturtevon currently at short and a veteran infield core returning for 1945 season.
