Avon Branch Teen Programs Spark Library Involvement
The Music at Main program at Main Library funded by Friends of Avon Branch focused on teen events like Teen Bake-Off Digital Scrapbooking Zombie Prom and Extreme Pumpkin Carving. Avon Branch started a Teen Volunteer Group and libraries participated widely in 2012 events including Lorain Internation Festival Lorain Courtly Fair Cinco de Mayo Parade Columbia Community Days Parade art shows and school tours.

The Lorain Public Library System notes 2,369,335 items borrowed and 863,626 library visits plus 2,302 programs with 46,166 in attendance. 102,607 patrons hold cards and 200,077 public computer uses are recorded. Funding came from The Stocker Foundation and partners include Lorain County Metro Parks and the Lorain County Ironmen.
