Sioux Falls SD A federal judge appointed Cleveland attorney Terry Gilbert to represent Arlo Looking Cloud at his April 23 sentencing for the December 1975 killing of Indian Movement activist Anna Mae Aquash on Pine Ridge. The case, tried in Rapid City, could see looking Cloud appeal with Gilbert handling both appeal and sentencing.
ASHLAND Kentucky Carolyn Sue Lykins received three months in prison and a $2000 fine after pleading guilty to conspiracy in an effort to flee the United States with former South Shore doctor David Herbert Procter. Federal guidelines called for 12 to 18 months but were reduced due to her cooperation. Lykins operated a bail bond business in Portsmouth Ohio and was arrested August 15 in Detroit during the alleged escape attempt.
