Historic house to be torn down for new justice center

ELYRIA The 1874 brick building housing Serazin and Deery at 333 Third St will be demolished to clear space for Lorain County’s justice center at Third and Court streets. Attorneys declined moving the structure as impractical, with moving costs cited at 158000 plus land and foundation expenses. County appraisers placed the fair market value of the building and land at 122100. The county plans to purchase the property from the attorneys at that value as part of the project.
