British Steamer Temple Bar Sinks After Striking Rocks
The Temple Bar struck rocks off Carroll Island 20 miles south of the Strait of Juan De Fuca entrance and apparently sank within minutes. The last message said lifeboats were launched and all aboard were believed to reach shore. The Ingham headed to the scene from Port Townsend, due about 3 PM EST.

South Ridge School Approved For Operation In Amherst
