Merck CEO defends Vioxx safety in trial appearance

In Atlantic City the former Merck chief Raymond Gilmartin testified that the company was transparent about Vioxx safety risks during his 11 year tenure despite a jury verdict to the contrary. He rejected claims that Merck hid data while critics argued profits drove conduct.
